Anirudh Damani is a 4th generation entrepreneur. His entrepreneurial career began as the co-founder of a company that procured long-term energy contracts for power companies in the deregulated U.S.energy markets. His job responsibilities included:
He started investing in early-stage startups as an angel investor; with the intention of helping young founders with the knowledge, he had gained from sales, marketing & human resources. Leveraging his vast entrepreneurial knowledge, Anirudh was able to quickly identify disruptive products & services and teams capable of executing their plans.
Some of the successful investments that Anirudh has personally made include Exotel, NowFloats, OYO Rooms, Tala, LendenClub, and CoutLoot. Anirudh also sits on the board of many startup & angel networks as his investment acumen, sales & marketing experience, team building & leadership quotient is eagerly sought by investors and founders.
As a Managing Partner at AVF, Anirudh’s role is to identify, evaluate and negotiate investments in startups. Post investment he works with the founders to achieve the right product-market fit, develop effective sales and marketing strategies, help founders recruit key personnel and help them in setting up key processes that will enable them to build strong successful businesses. He is also the key point of contact for LP’s in the fund and sits on the investment committee of AVF-I.
He has completed his Double Major in Economics and Business Administration from Austin College, Texas, USA.
Mr. Vinod Keni has over 20 years of entrepreneurial, investment management, CXO, financial management, consulting and operations experience. He has also been an active angel investor. His fund and investment management experience includes managerial positions at Aavishkaar (one of the largest impact funds), the IAN Fund, and SCP Private Equity/IL&FS Investment Managers. As an entrepreneur, he has co-founded businesses in technology and services, and has experience across the stages in a business’ life-cycle, from the start-up phase through funding, scaling-up, growth up until successful exits. As a CFO & Finance professional, Vinod has led HomeCom through an IPO, filed and done the initial work for HeadHunter(Career Builder)’s IPO. He has advised and mentored clients in building world-class finance organizations and operations that will support growth and create sustainable enterprises.
His domain experience includes technology, healthcare, services, manufacturing, food, and hospitality. He lived and worked in the United States of America before moving back to India, and continues to mentor companies in North America and South East Asia.
He was one of the co-founders of the Atlanta chapter of TiE and is a global Charter Member. He was the co-founder and is now the Director Emeritus of the Atlanta CEO HiTech Council. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of TiE Mumbai and a Chair of the Fintech SIG.

Mr. Sanjay Gandhi brings significant experience in law, compliance, finance and investments to the investment team of the Investment Manager. Prior to joining the Investment Manager, Sanjay worked as an Associate Vice President with US based ALCOR Fund, undertaking cross border investment in Indian unlisted entities from its India office in Pune. Sanjay has also worked with ALCOR Fund’s associate ALCOR Mergers & Acquisitions Private Limited, deal sourcing, evaluating and executing cross border private equity, M&A and joint venture transactions.
Sanjay worked in Australia as a Senior Financial Analyst with Melbourne based MAP Capital Advisors Pty Ltd, a leading independent investment and advisory business. Sanjay was a part of the team which invested in early stage entities in Australia and advised Australian clients on business growth strategies.
In Australia, Sanjay also worked as a Research Analyst with Melbourne based News Bites, where his responsibilities were writing research report on Australian listed entities, developing financial models for deriving company valuation based on different valuation methods and undertake industry research.
In India, Sanjay worked as an Analyst with ASK-Raymond James, an advisory firm, in which he undertook industry research, developed financial models and prepared information memorandum, Sanjay has completed Master of Appliance Finance degree from University of Melbourne, alongwith Bachelor of Commerce from University of Mumbai. Sanjay has also cleared the Intermediate Level of Chartered Accountancy from ICAI, India.
Mr. Nikunj Thakkar is working as an Analyst for the fund. Nikunj’s primary tasks include sourcing deals, preliminary screening, deal flow management, financial modeling, and valuation, conducting due diligence and in-depth market/industry research and competitive landscaping.
Prior to joining the Investment Manager, Nikunj has worked as Senior Financial Analyst at TresVista Financial Services in Mumbai for 2.5 years. At TresVista, Nikunj worked on several assignments, developed financial and valuation models, and conducted in-depth industry research. He has worked with various clients across the globe, including a MENA-focused Private Equity firm, a New York Investment Bank and a Nigerian Venture Capital firm among others.
Nikunj has an MBA from the University of Mumbai and has graduated in Bachelor of Management Studies from the University of Mumbai.
Ms. Karishma Kirpalani is currently an Analyst and PR Manager at Artha Venture Fund. Karishma’s primary role includes deal sourcing, preliminary screening, deal flow management, financial modeling, conducting due diligence and in-depth market/industry research, competitive landscaping, creating effective PR campaigns and content writing for the website, blog, and articles.
Previously Karishma interned at Jump Investors, a boutique investment firm in Los Angeles specializing in both Venture Capital and Private Equity. As an intern, Karishma analyzed pitch decks, identified important revenue streams and developed effective business and marketing strategies for portfolio companies. She worked primarily with a tech startup in the seed stage and took the initiative to manage its social media campaign. She worked within a budget to increase their social media audience by 40% in the span of 3 months.
At her previous experience in the Brand and Consumer Practice Department at Genesis Burson-Marsteller, she worked closely with global brands to deliver unique, results-orientated campaign ideas and integrated communication services. She monitored daily readership and created intricate spreadsheets to analyze promotion tactics and evaluate potential target markets and sponsors for her clients including Wrigley, Omega, Tourism New Zealand and BrandZ etc. Karishma has strong research and analytical skills is a team player and an extremely goal driven individual.
Karishma has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Theatre from the University of Southern California.
Having worked in Office Management & Human Resources for over eight years, Sandesha has exceptional communication and people management skills. She has proven her expertise in organizing schedules and creating optimal internal operational systems. She graduated from Mumbai University with a Bachelor of Commerce and has worked for major brands like Parthenon-EY and ITC Limited in Management.
Consulting and Hospitality. At her roles there, she was responsible for campus hiring, pre-recruitment and onboarding activities for new hires, including liasing with external affairs ministry offices and international high commissions regarding employment visas for expatriate hires. As the Manager of the Guest Relations team, Sandesha led a team of executives, which was responsible for ensuring a smooth and delightful guest experience.
Mr. Kela used provided strategic input and guidance to Reliance Capital, managing assets worth more than $ 28 billion.
Prior to this, he was heading the Equity Investments at Reliance Mutual Fund for nearly 10 years, during which time, its assets grew 500x from Rs. 200 crores to Rs. 1,00,000 crores.
